WHAT IS BALAYAGE:
The word Balayage is a French word meaning to sweep or to paint. Balayage has been around for a long time, but this timeless technique is trendy now and it is the most popular and most requested style in all salons.
WHY DO WE LOVE IT:
Balayage gives a natural hair color with softer, less noticeable re-growth. It is painted on the surface of the hair strand and not saturated through the section until the very tips. This ensures a smooth, blended stroke of colour. Balayage also enables you to customize your work to every client in a way that can’t be duplicated by another colorist. Every hair Balayage is different from another.
The Balayage pieces are usually very close and soft at the root leading to a thicker highlight at the ends of the hair.
HOW IS BALAYAGE DIFFERENT FROM HIGHLIGHTING?
Highlights are traditionally done using foils, and the result is pieces of hair that are very uniform and clearly defined.
With balayage, also known as hair painting, the lightener or hair color is painted on in such a way as to create a graduated, natural-looking effect from end to root and is all about creating beautiful blends of multi-dimensional color.
IS ONE MORE DAMAGING TO THE HAIR?
A professional colorist will manage the lightening process to protect the health of your hair, regardless of which technique you opt for. Our favorite Balayage look keeps the blonde to the mid-lengths and ends of your hair, minimizing the risk of damage to your roots—but either way, rest assured our stylist at Argan Salon and Spat will keep your hair healthy. At Argan Salon and Spa, our stylists love Balayage and we enjoy seeing our customers enjoy it as well.
